500 Drunk Drivers Arrested
NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A statewide crackdown on drunk driving put 500 drunk drivers in handcuffs.
More than 200 law enforcement agencies took to the streets from August 19th through Labor Day weekend.
Officers are calling the crackdown a success.
They made nearly 12,000 stops compared to 13,000 last year.
They arrested 520 people for drunk driving. Last year they nabbed 552.
Over Labor Day weekend two people died in accidents involving alcohol. Last year there were four.
